In the CREATE-X phase III clinical trial, patients (n = 910) with stage I-IIIB, HER2-negative breast cancer treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy found at the time of surgery to have evidence of residual invasive disease or known node-positive disease were randomized to standard treatment with endocrine therapy as indicated or to treatment with 8 cycles of capecitabine (1250 mg/mg2 bid D1-14, q21 days). Here, ERBB2 is linked to breast carcinoma.
