IRAK1 and autoimmune disease: Several evidence supports the association between the dysregulation of miRNA-146a and various autoimmune diseases, including but not limited to SLE,10 rheumatoid arthritis,11 autoimmune thyroid disorder,12 Graves’ disease13 and several other autoimmune conditions.8 A pilot study performed by Zhou et al14 revealed that interleukin-1 receptor-associated kinase 1 (IRAK1) and tumour necrosis factor receptor-associated factor 6 (TRAF6) are potential targets of miRNA-146a.
