Taking in account the involvement of GABAT enzyme in the reduction of GABA levels as well as the abundance of Acinetobacter calcoaceticus, Clostridium species, and Salmonella typhimurium in the gut of MS patients, we may suggest that GABAT enzymes from these bacterial species are involved in GABA degradation and the onset of MS. This evidence concerns the gene ABAT and myeloid sarcoma.
