In this study, the albumin levels of patients on postoperative days 3 and 5 were significantly lower in the ERAS group than those in the non‐ERAS group, which was consistent with the changes in common inflammatory factors, such as CRP, procalcitonin, and WBC, indicating that the use of the ERAS protocol can reduce the postoperative stress response in patients with colorectal cancer. The gene discussed is ALB; the disease is colorectal cancer.
