ABCC3 and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis: It is known that patients with non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) have impaired activity in multidrug resistance protein (MPR) 2 and 3: these transporters are involved in the transport of bile acids, anionic drugs and other different metabolites (such as glucuronides) from hepatocytes to the blood (MRP3) or hepatocytes to the bile (MRP2) [25].
