Some potential drugs have been evaluated in mouse models of AKI: the DPP-4 inhibitor teneligliptin accelerates recovery from the cisplatin-induced AKI by promoting the proliferation of renal proximal tubular epithelial cells (RPTEC), and CXCL12, one of the DPP-4 substrate chemokines, is a responsible mitogen of RPTEC proliferation [4]. This evidence concerns the gene DPP4 and acute kidney injury.
