Remarkably, NEAT1 functions as a competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) for miR-377-3p, counteracting its processes and consequently releasing the repression of endogenous targets, most notably E2F3, a central oncogene implicated in NSCLC progression (Fu et al., 2022[17]; Sun et al., 2016[69]; Zhang et al., 2017[92]). This evidence concerns the gene NEAT1 and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
