Zhang et al. discovered that the SLC16A1-AS1 long non-coding RNA sponges hsa-miR-194-5p, and the downregulation of this long non-coding RNA in cervical cancer leads to hsa-miR-194-5p overexpression, which improves cancer cell development by SOCS2 downregulation [81].
