EIF4EBP1 and prostate carcinoma: Phosphorylation of EIF4E-binding protein 1 (p-4E-BP1, downstream effector of mTORC1) can promote cancer progression [30], we also found that downregulating HSL can restrain the expression of p-4E-BP1 obviously, which was consistent with the recent findings that high level of p-4E-BP1 was associated with poor prognosis in breast, ovarian, and prostate cancers [30], and suppressing p-4E-BP1 expression significantly inhibited cancer cells growth in vivo [31, 32].
