These findings, collectively, suggested the dietary supplementation with OC-rich EVOO as a beneficial strategy to slow down or potentially halt the progression of AD, primarily through its dual action of restoring BBB function, reducing neuroinflammation via suppressing the NLRP3 inflammasome pathway, and promoting autophagy via the AMPK/ULK1 pathway [59].
