IFNB1 and infection: This causes the release of IL-6, IFNβ [70], and TNF [71]; the latter activates pro-inflammatory pathways of NF-κB, and in this way, a vicious cycle and cytokine storm arise, recruiting immune cells (mainly T-cells in the case BoDV1 infection, although BoDV1 suppress RIG activation) to the site of infection [8,71].
