Interestingly, the fusions EWSR1::CREB and EWSR1::ATF1 arise in a number of mesenchymal tumors with different histologic features, such as clear cell sarcoma of the soft tissue, clear cell sarcoma-like tumors of the gastrointestinal tract (i.e., malignant gastrointestinal neuroectodermal tumors), angiomatoid fibrous histiocytoma, and primary pulmonary myxoid sarcoma. The gene discussed is ATF1; the disease is clear cell sarcoma.
