We have unveiled for the first time the effect of plant miR8126-3p and miR8126-5p on the alleviation of triglyceride accumulation induced by FFAs in HepG2 cells, through the regulation of the predicted targets QKI and MAPKAPK2; these targets are widely associated with lipid metabolism, and their inhibition is associated with the counteraction of metabolic diseases [34,35,38]. Here, MAPKAPK2 is linked to metabolic disease.
