The introduction of ultrasensitive single molecule array (Simoa) technology and mesoscale discovery (MSD) ELISA methods recently enabled the identification of blood Tau biomarkers in large populations of patients [23,24,25], demonstrating that p-Tau may help to discriminate AD from other tauopathies [11,23,24,26,27,28]. The gene discussed is MAPT; the disease is Alzheimer disease.
