This study hypothesizes that the co-administration of doxorubicin and curcumin within Na131I radiolabeled carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCS) nanoparticles (ICED-N) targeted against the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) in a three-dimensional (3D) model could potentially result in a synergistic augmentation of their respective anti-cancer properties (Figure 1A).
