Figure 6C displays the survival curves for each group. The time of death occurred 2–8 days following infection. At 4.00 × 106 and 4.00 × 105, there were significant differences. In addition, the LD50 of Δcrp was 1.85 × 106 CFU/mL, which is 73.1 times higher than the LD50 of the wild type, which is 2.53 × 104 CFU/mL. Therefore, the cumulative mortality via the injection challenge method was considerably reduced by deletion of the crp gene. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and infection.
