The KEGG pathway analysis showed that these target genes were mostly involved in the phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase (PI3K)/protein kinase B (Akt) signaling pathway, mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPK) signaling pathway, protein processing in the endoplasmic reticulum, nucleocytoplasmic transport, viral carcinogenesis, Epstein-Barr virus infection, cellular senescence, Kaposi sarcoma-associated HSV infection, and cell cycle pathways (Fig. 3c, Additional file 9: Table S9). This evidence concerns the gene AKT1 and Epstein-Barr virus infection.
