Treatment of carcinoma cells withtitanium complexes 3b–c perturbsintracellular signaling cascades that generate intracellular ROS andarrest the cell cycle at G2/M phases, evoking DNA double strand breakdamage, as indicated by γ-H2AX foci, leading to downregulationof antiapoptotic survival proteins BCl-2 and Mcl-1, ultimately triggeringapoptotic cell death. Here, H2AX is linked to carcinoma.
