Guo et al., reported that Bifidobacterium pseudolongum (Bp7 and Bp8) had a protective role in colitis mice model, potentially by blocking the secretion of proinflammatory cytokines and activating the PPARγ/STAT3 pathway.37 However the beneficial effects attributed to Bifidobacterium are likely strain-specific.38 This evidence concerns the gene STAT3 and colitis.
