In patients with clinical suspicion of encephalitis, the detection of anti-GAD antibodies in the CSF or high serum titers (> 1000 IU/ml) was accepted as significant for correlation with the neurological syndrome.5In our sample, we identified 4 patients with this autoantibody, 3 of whom with serum detection and 1 with CSF detection (patient 5, who also presented anti-VGKC in the CSF). Here, GAD1 is linked to encephalitis.
