As shown in Fig. 6, in the 5-fluorouracil-treated group focal steatosis, serum AST, ALT, ALP and ALB levels were markedly decreased in rats treated with 5-fluorouracil (20 mg/kg) (P < 0.001) (Fig. 6a), inflammatory cell infiltration and hepatocellular damage were observed (Fig. 6b), suggesting liver injury. This evidence concerns the gene GPT and steatosis.
