An increased accumulation of somatic mutations with age can also be found in healthy individuals (a phenomenon designated by age-related clonal hematopoiesis), but these primarily target genes with malignancy implications, such as DNMT3A, TET2, and ASXL1, and increase their carriers ́ predisposition to hematological malignancies and cardiovascular disease (42–45). The gene discussed is TET2; the disease is cardiovascular disorder.
