Consistent with the current study results, an isocaloric or ad libitum anti-inflammatory diet rich in mono and polyunsaturated fats (37% or 113 g of fat), with a saturated fat and cholesterol content below recommended levels, in individuals with DM and/or or pre-diabetes and obesity without circadian misalignment, was associated with a reduction in fasting blood glucose levels yet had no effect for insulin (73).
