TMEM219 and type 2 diabetes mellitus: In the analysis of miRNAs expression in laser-captured islets of heathy donors, of patients at risk for T1D (autoantibodies positive) or with established T1D, and of patients with type 2 diabetes (Figure 2B), miR-129-2 appeared highly expressed in islets of both patients at risk for T1D and with established T1D (Figures 2B, C), thus representing a relevant target that may modulate TMEM219 expression in pancreatic islets.
