AKT1 and breast cancer: Considering that approximately fifty percent of TNBC patients overexpress epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), the activation of receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) confers oncogenic regulation via the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/protein kinase B (PI3K/Akt) signaling pathway and HER2-enriched breast cancer patients specifically expresses HER2 (84), targeting EGFR may be a viable strategy for anti-breast cancer therapy.
