These observations extended to human cancer cell lines, where depletion of GOLGA7 substantially inhibited proliferation in cell lines with NRAS mutations (THP-1, OCI-AML3, HL-60, HepG2, and SK-MEL-2), but not in NRAS-wild type cells (SK-MEL-30, and MOLM-13), or cells with HRAS or KRAS4B mutations (T24 and NB4, respectively) (Fig. 6C). The gene discussed is GOLGA7; the disease is cancer.
