Decreased phosphorylation of FAK leads to decreased downstream phosphorylation of STAT3 at the Y705 site, thereby reducing the transcription of certain STAT3 target genes such as VEGFA, IL6, TNFRSF1A, and TGFB1, and impeding oncogenic processes such as angiogenesis, VM, tumor cell motility, and metastasis (Fig. 8F).
