AKT1 and neoplasm: To elucidate the underlying mechanisms, the researchers treated RASGRP3-MUT with a Phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase(PI3K)/protein kinase B(Akt) inhibitor, LY294002, and observed a decrease in Akt expression and invasive capacity of tumour cells, as well as an increase in NIS and TSHR expression in thyroid cells.
