The phosphorylation status of MAPT is believed to be a key marker for G2/M phase in prostate cancer cells and the forced modulation of Tau phosphorylation can interfere with the capacity of the cell to efficiently progress through G2/M phase, indicating a functional relevance of microtubul-associated proteins in the PCA disease process (Clementi et al. 2023). This evidence concerns the gene MAPT and posterior cortical atrophy.
