AKT1 and melanoma: In our study, we not only confirmed that N-cadherin downregulation in melanoma cells reduces the AKT signaling activity but also proved that expressing N-cadherin in YAP1-deficient CAFs and melanoma cells can at least, partially, rescue the inhibitory effects on melanoma cell proliferation and p-AKT signaling due to the loss of N-Cadherin-mediated intercellular interactions between BRAF-mutant melanoma cells and CAFs.
