SERPINE1 and Arterial thrombosis: Chronic exposure to indoxyl sulfate was found to promote arterial thrombosis by increasing the levels of complex TF/factor VII, plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1), and platelet activation, as well as by decreasing aortic levels of SIRT1, thus further supporting the protective role of SIRT1 in thrombosis (Karbowska et al., 2018).
