ACSL4 and acute respiratory distress syndrome: Figures,  3A–3C showed that a large number of NETs emerged in lung tissue in the CLP group. The representative indicators, such as MPO and Histone H3 were both elevated. After the treatment of DNase-1 to induce NETs depletion, ferroptosis in sepsis-induced ALI was suppressed, the expression of ACSL4 and the levels of MDA and cell-free Fe2+ in lung tissue decreased, and the downregulation of GPX4 and GSH expression caused by CLP was reversed (Figs. 3D–3H). However, FTH expression seemed to decrease after DNase-1 treatment (Fig. 3G).
