Previous study on synthetic pyrazolo [1,5-a]pyrimidine derivatives {2-[1-Cyano-2-(4-methoxyphenyl)vinyl]-5,7-diphenylpyrazolo [1,5-a]-pyramidine-3-carbonitrile (A) and 2-[1-Cyano-2-(4-methoxyphenyl)vinyl]-5,7-diphenylpyrazolo [1,5-a]-pyramidine-3-carbonitrile (B)} demonstrated strong inhibitory activity against CDK-2, and both compounds (A and B) arrested the cell cycle at G2/M phase in the cell cycle assay using the HepG-2 cancer cell line (Metwally et al., 2021; Mohammed and Elmasry, 2022). This evidence concerns the gene CDK2 and cancer.
