Our study demonstrated an increased ex vivo expression of both CLA+ CD56bright and CD56dim NK cell population, mainly in severe AD patients, and an augmented functional ability to express IFN-γ, IL-10, and TNF under SEB stimulation in CLA+CD56dim NK cells, reinforcing the role of staphylococcal enterotoxins in the AD pathogenesis. The gene discussed is IFNG; the disease is Alzheimer disease.
