Protein interaction analysis of the miR-196a2 target proteins shows many proteins involved in particular biological processes such as cell cycle regulation, cell signaling pathways, chromatin condensation, DNA repair, activation of apoptosis through its binding to CASP3, among other processes that, when altered, can favor the development of CRC.4 No significant differences were observed for the rs2910164 variant of miR-146a in this study. The gene discussed is CASP3; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
