Although the literature presents conflicting notions, SNP rs3787016 (A > G or complementary T > C, C/T), localized in the fourth intron of RNA polymerase II subunit E (POLR2E) lncRNA gene may serve as a genetic risk-factor increasing predisposition to various cancer types [41] including prostate cancer in Chinese [44] or Iranian [45], gastric cancer [46] in Chinese, breast and cervical cancer in Chinese populations [47]. This evidence concerns the gene POLR2E and prostate cancer.
