AHR and Familial prostate cancer: Bunay et. al., (Buñay et al., 2023), showed that dioxins and PCB-153 induced the upregulation of ACAT1 through the activation of AHR (aryl hydrocarbon receptors), which was associated with an aggressive phenotype and increased tumor growth, migration, cellular invasion and metastatic progression of prostate cancer (Buñay et al., 2023).
