OCLN and Alzheimer disease: We had previously found a significant decrease in the colonic barrier proteins ZO-1 and occludin in AD mice [20], and here, we observed changes in the intestinal barrier proteins ZO-1 and occludin and found that the intestinal barrier proteins ZO-1 and occludin were similarly significantly decreased in the AD mice compared to the wild type mice, and they were significantly increased after exercise (Figure 6D, 6E).
