Given that cannabis receptor (CB1R) is enriched in the mesocorticolimbic system (67) and cannabis exposure increases long-term vulnerability to cognitive impairments (68, 69), our results support the long-term harmful effect of cannabis use in patients with cognitive disorder and dementia subtypes that involved brain areas other than frontal and temporal lobes (AD and FTD). This evidence concerns the gene CNR1 and frontotemporal dementia.
