The RTKN2 gene is expressed in lymphocytes (Collier et al., 2004), induces an NF-kB-dependent hold on apoptosis (Collier et al., 2009) that can change counts and function of available immune cells, and has been implicated in autoimmune disease (Myouzen et al., 2012). The gene discussed is NFKB1; the disease is autoimmune disease.
