While an AWD was almost all cases (21/22) associated with an SSI, only one patient had a ‘classical’ burst abdomen situation (on postoperative day 2) with ascitic leakage and evisceration (♂/68 yrs, hepatocellular carcinoma, liver resection, hepato-renal syndrome, ascites, low albumin etc.). Here, ALB is linked to hepatocellular carcinoma.
