Consistent with our previous results [27, 28], the daily administration of the dose of 1 mg/kg of letrozole for 21 consecutive days induced a PCOS rat model possessing similar metabolic (overweight and dyslipidemia) and reproductive (hyperandrogenism, high LH levels, ovarian cysts, and infertility) disorders as seen in PCOS women. This evidence concerns the gene PLOD1 and polycystic ovary syndrome.
