Zhang et al. (2018) have previously identified this peptide as a novel tumor suppressor protein, SHPRH-146aa, noting its influence on the survival of glioblastoma patients. Motivated by this finding, we sought to study the effect of circ-SHPRH-146aa on the pathophysiology of NB, prompting us to engineer its overexpression in NB cells (Fig. 3A). The consequent in vitro experiments demonstrated that the overexpression of SHPRH-146aa significantly inhibited the malignant characteristics of SH-SY5Y and SK-N-AS cells, including proliferation, migration, and invasion activities (Figs. 3B–3F). This evidence concerns the gene SHPRH and neuroblastoma.
