In MS, pathological studies have detected activated NF-κB subunits in macrophages, microglia, oligodendrocytes, astrocytes, neurons, perivascular lymphocytes near or in active MS plaques [6], however the impact of its activation on the different cell types to pathology and its cognitive comorbidities still needs further investigation. The gene discussed is NFKB1; the disease is myeloid sarcoma.
