Serum Mg2+ levels were associated with MUC1/TRIM46 (p = 2.9 × 10−7), SHROOM3 (p = 4.0 × 10−7), and SLC22A7 (p = 1.0 × 10−6) at nominal significance, which is in combination with the eQTL data suggesting that they are possible candidates for renal failure. The gene discussed is TRIM46; the disease is acute kidney injury.
