Patients with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis who incidentally acquired a helminth infection presented with fewer relapses and reduced disability scores in association with augmented circulating IL-10, TGF-β, and Tregs and a reduction in IL-12- and IFN-γ-secreting cells (199), all of which was reversed following anthelminthic treatment (200). Here, IL10 is linked to helminthiasis.
