EIF3A and lung cancer: Our previous studies showed that the expression of eIF3a protein is markedly associated with the response of lung cancer patients to platinum-based chemotherapy [17]; the genetic polymorphism of eIF3a rs3740556 was associated with the severe nephrotoxicity and ototoxicity caused by platinum-based chemotherapy in NSCLC patients; and the A/G allele of eIF3a rs3740556 predicted platinum-based chemotherapy resistance in lung cancer patients [18,19].
