For Wnt inhibitory factor 1 (WIF1), which is expressed by non-neoplastic oligodendrocytes in gliomas, it is suggested that this factor may contribute to the inhibition of proliferation and further tumor growth, but exploring the molecular link between gliomas and the expression pattern of non-neoplastic oligodendroglia remains a task for future studies [133,134]. The gene discussed is WIF1; the disease is central nervous system cancer.
