SLC5A2 and acute coronary syndrome: Interestingly, SGLT2 inhibitors could reduce ISR-related events in type 2 DM (T2DM) patients with acute coronary syndrome and the effect was independent of glycemic control, suggesting that SGLT2 inhibitors may have a beneficial effect on coronary artery remodeling after stent implantation, perhaps by modulating a wide range of metabolic, molecular, and hemodynamic mechanisms besides its glucose-lowering effects.
