Angiotensin receptor/neprilysin inhibitor (ARNI) and sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitor (SGLT2i) have shown a significant protective role against cardiovascular diseases and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), and there is a growing proportion of patients who are undergoing combined therapy with the two drugs. This evidence concerns the gene SLC5A2 and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
